Peters Outreach
g
Our outreach at Peters Elementary School has had an interesting year. For various reasons, we have not been able to meet every week. As a result, we have only met the last Friday of each month.
This past Friday was very special. The team really wanted to give the kids an opportunity to share their needs, and we really wanted to spend some time in prayer with these kids. We made time for prayer, and the kids responded. Some of their needs were simple, some not so simple, but all of their needs were important.
The logistics involved with an outreach away from the church in a gym with 100plus kids at 8 in the morning can be daunting. The kids remember the mean things Cheto says, or watching a pickle light up like a light bulb. Those things are fun, and I will continue to do them. But nothing is more important than the time we spent with those kids on Friday morning, allowing them to pray and ask God for help, or ask Jesus into their hearts. It was an important reminder to the team as to why we do this, and the reason I will continue to do this for as long as I live in Tulsa.
